Dean's Homework
This year Dean has, yet again, managed to give the FIRST Robotics teams a "homework assignment." He has challenged all the FIRST teams to reach out and bring awareness of FIRST to everyone through the media. Team 378 has done just that! Throughout the 2007-2008 season the Circuit Stompers have strived to bring awareness to everyone from school members to community members.
- One of the Circuit Stompers, Phil, has been working with the local television station LCTV to prepare a team video. The team video includes a variety of moments throughout the 2007-2008 build season; everything from the PR team making panther headbands to the construction of our robot, High Five! This video will be put on YouTube for the world to see.
- Team 378 also contacted the local radio station WLBL about the possibility of having an interview with one of the Circuit Stompers. This will allow our team to broadcast the ideals of FIRST Robotics and the Circuit Stompers to the surrounding area.
- The Circuit Stompers spread the word through print media as well. Newfane High School is the home of the team 378. Throughout the school there are bulletin boards dedicated to the Circuit Stompers. These bulletin boards contain pictures of the team hard at work and play the FIRST Robotics way! In this way the Circuit Stompers have raised awareness in the student population.
- The Newfane School District has promoted our cause through the use of the marquee in the front of the Middle School in order to advertise the FIRST Robotics events that we will be attending.
- The Circuit Stompers have posted several pictures of the team to the FIRST website on the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. (we are #'s 65-69 under FIRST Robotics)
- Pictures of a local cub scout troop driving the robot were submitted to the Union Sun and Journal, the local newspaper.
