Dean's Homework

Dean Kamen has charged all FIRST teams to make the FIRST robotic competitions more of a spectator sport. He wants FRC competitions to be more inclusive and engaging to the general public. With the efforts of all the FIRST teams this will be the most publicized year for FIRST robotics yet. Dean has asked everyone to make an effort to get out in the community.
In response to Dean’s 2010 homework we are increasing public awareness. We are reaching out to the community and inviting them to our competitions. We already:
• Posted fliers at local businesses
• Invited all local volunteer fire companies to attend the regional competition
• Participated on a radio talk show to alert the listeners to our program and our competitions dates
• Posted a community announcement on our local cable station
• Invited the local Cub Scout troops to join us at the Finger Lakes Regional
