How Team 378 was Started
The Delphi Circuit Stompers was formed late in 1999 as a challenge from Delphi Divisional Engineering Directors.
Den Black, a chief engineer at Delphi Harrison Thermal Systems at the time, was assigned the task of forming the team.
Den and a Delphi Thermal recruitment team communicated with many local schools to see if they were interested in supporting a FIRST Robotics program. Newfane High School was ultimately selected.
Since then, the team has won the following awards:
- 2000 Rookie All-Star Award
- 2001 (8th) selected at Great Lakes Regional
- 2001 (16th) selected at Championship Event
- 2002 (8th) selected at Canadian Regional
- 2003 Finalist at Buckeye Regional
- 2003 Regional Winner at Canadian Regional
- 2003 Leadership in Controls Award at Canadian Regional

(finished 3rd in US and Canada) - 2003 Finalist at Indiana Robotics Invitational
- 2004 Buckeye Regional Finalist - Cleveland, Ohio
- 2004 Finished seeded 9th in Archemedes division at Championship Event of 68 teams in Atlanta, Georgia
- 2005 Finger Lakes Regional Quarter Finalist
- 2005 Buckeye Regional - 3rd place finals
- 2005 Delphi's "Driving Tomorrow's Technology" Award at Buckeye Regional
- 2005 Johnson & Johnson Sportsmanship Award at Buckeye Regional
- 2006 seeded 2nd in the Greater Toronto Regional
- 2006 GM Industrial Design Award
- 2006 Rochester Robotics Invitational Champions
Program Goals
- Inspire students concerning technology, math & science.
- Prepare students for leadership roles.
- Promote the ideals of FIRST.
- Increase community and state awareness of science and technology education opportunities.
- Promote teamwork skills.
- Introduce students to positive role models.
- Boost the level of competition in FIRST by providing technical assistance and organizational mentoring to any FIRST team.
